notebook is nearly dead

hey dudes. my notebook is nearly dead... after 3 hours playing, it is as hot as an oven and it shut down in reason of the heat
i think my airconditioner has broken down... what can i do?

Depends on how old it is..
If you still have guarantee, you can send it to the manufacturer.
If the guarantee is expired, you can use a vacuum cleaner and try cleaning it externally.
In case that ain't working open it and clean it properly and make sure the CPU fan is working untained.
If it's a cheap one the problem could be the CPU fan connectors you can try to solder them, but inform yourself before you do that, since if you mess it up, it'll be worse than before.

I dunno what you paid for it and if it's worth to invest further money in it, but using a notebook cooler COULD probably resolve that issue. Wouldn't be that expensive to effort one.. Notebook cooler prices

Was gonna recommend a cooler too, the ones you actually put your computer on top of work really well. One of my mates has one and it cools it down to playable level, that would be your best option imo

my bro had a packard bell, not a notebook but same sh*t.
Same problem, he bought a cooler, was better but not enough.
Then he tried with two dictionnaries, and it works fine. Cheaper than a cooler, more effective .

When I use a HOT laptop, I put a wood stick at the back of it for helping to evacuate the warness.

On laptops, I already replace the thermal paste, thermal pads, and remove the dust.

yes i've tried it with removing the dust... but didn't help
then i found a program wich shows the temperature from my cores...
and they show me that my core are always around 60-70 degree

and now, my friend brought me a new core, he's a very pc-freaky-guy
and i think it works, and it was cheap... i paid only 15franks - 10 euros
